Its operations are supported by major mining sites and power plants, including the Bełchatów and Turów lignite mines, as well as large-scale power generation facilities such as Bełchatów, Opole, Turów, Rybnik, and Dolna Odra.

Within the GrEnMine project, PGE GiEK contributes its extensive industrial experience, large-scale infrastructure, and operational know-how, providing a real-world context for the assessment of gravity-based energy storage solutions. As an operator of complex mining and energy systems, the company supports the evaluation of technical feasibility, system integration, and the potential reuse of post-mining sites in the transition towards more resilient and flexible energy systems.
