Technical University of Crete (TUC) is a dynamic and research-oriented public technical university with a clear mission: to expand knowledge and benefit society through research fully integrated with education. Despite its relatively young age, TUC ranks among the most prominent research institutions in Greece, supported by more than 70 well-equipped laboratories, advanced technological infrastructure, and an internationally experienced academic staff.

A key contributor to the GrEnMine project is the School of Mineral Resources Engineering, which offers strong expertise in mineral resources, energy systems, geotechnics, and environmental geotechnology. Founded in 1983, the School delivers high-quality education at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels, supported by a robust research base comprising 13 laboratories and 8 research units. Its activities span mining technology, mineral exploitation, resource exploration, and emerging disciplines aligned with sustainable development.

Within the GrEnMine project, the Technical University of Crete contributes advanced scientific knowledge and research capacity in mineral resources engineering, geotechnics, and sustainable energy-related applications, supporting the analysis, modelling, and assessment of solutions related to underground structures and the responsible use of subsurface resources for energy storage.
